This 1850's Missouri River Town with its charming atmosphere, offers
many specialty shops from antiques to fine arts. The shops all have their own
distinct personalities and collection of wares to sell. The Parkville Farmers Market
offers their customers a paved walkway to browse among the selections, which
include locally grown produce and plants, honey, eggs and baked goods. Some
of Parkville's oldest buildings have tunnels in the basements which helped
the slaves hide and later escape to free land just on the other side of the river.
